Thankful

Albertans have a tradition of heading to Banff every fall to view the changing colours of the larch trees. Larch are coniferous trees that lose their needles every fall.  Before they drop they turn from green to spectacular golden yellow. There is always a mad rush to hit the mountains and see the larch.  It is so popular that the roads are often closed to tourists simply due to volume!

It is my tradition to hit the less popular tourist spots and head out into the backcountry where fewer people are willing to go!  I am thankful that I know where to go and have the fitness level to get into areas that cars cannot!  I can't wait to hike to this spot again.

What outdoor fall tradition are you grateful for? If you are not an outdoors enthusiast, show us a fall tradition you are thankful for.
