Architecture

Familiar

The Rideau Canal is definitely a familiar landmark for most folks living in Ontario.  It's a manmade waterway consisting of a series of locks linking Lake Ontario to the Ottawa River.  It is a marvel of modern-day architecture.  Our fellow 365'er, Amy Roach, works for Parks Canada and is an expert in all things Rideau Canal!  This photo includes locks numbers 1 through 8 of the system.  The Chateau Laurier hotel is on the right-hand side and Canada's parliament buildings are on the left.  Both are architectural marvels in and of themselves.

What familiar piece of architecture from your neck of the woods will you showcase today?
