A Car-Free Day encourages motorists to give up their cars for a day. Organised events are held in some cities and countries.

According to The Washington Post, the event promotes improvement of mass transit, cycling and walking, and the development of communities where jobs are closer to home and where shopping is within walking distance. Studies showed that for short trips in cities, one can reach their destination more quickly using a bicycle rather than using a car.

Since Lockdown, who has been using their cars as much? Not me, that is for certain. Our car sits in our drive most of the time.

Pick a form of transport that you Can use instead of your car.  It may be a bicycle, the public bus, a horse or shanks pony!  Document how you are getting around today.
