Black and white photography is my favorite.  It gives us, the photographer, control over what becomes prominent in the frame.  Light, texture, and contrast are the tools that allow us to bring out a specific object or element in our photo.

We are adding a craftroom to our house.  The windows are slow to arrive so our contractor closed in the space with this door that looks like the entrance to a secret clubhouse.  In order to not get frustrated with the delays, we try to have some fun with the situation.  Today I left him a prominently placed post-it note.  Hopefully when all is done, these tiny moments of silliness will hold a prominent place in our memories.

Photograph something that today may seem simple and fleeting but deserves a prominent place in the memories that you'll visit in the years to come.
