When taking a photo that you plan to convert to B&W there are a few elements to look for that can help you achieve an outstanding image! 

• Look for interesting shapes and patterns.
• Include contrasting components - this can add drama. 
• Play up the lIght and shadows. 
• Use simple compositions for a more striking image.  

I want to encourage you to take lots of photos today, then process them ALL in B&W, and take note of the elements that really standout. You might be surprised by what catches your eye in the absence of color... and of course we want to know what did!
