Photographing an individual "through" something can yield promising results.  You can take an ordinary portrait and elevate it by bringing depth to the image. In my example image, I placed my subject behind the tree branches and had her hold them such that I could shoot through them and frame her face.

Practice this technique today.  If you don't have a willing human, place your furry friends behind something.
