How are you finding long exposure?  

A technique that has come out of long exposure is ICM (Intentional Camera Movement).  This is a fun way to try to make an abstract photo.

I used settings on a sunny day of f /22 ISO 100 at 1/3 sec, which is a long exposure, but the redwood bush was transformed!

Have a go at ICM and see if you can score a hit!
