Today is Veteran's Day in the United States, the day we honor all of the brave men and women who have served in the armed forces.

My dad was a career Naval officer.  Through stories, I know that he was a hero to many for whom he served as commandinding officer.  Though I am grateful and proud of him for his service to the United States, he is a hero to me because he was an awesome dad.
