Have you ever had one of those days where you read the prompt, an image immediately pops into your head, and there is no room for negotiation as to what your picture of the day will be?  That was the case for me today.  Today is Veterans Day in the United States, the day set aside to honor all those men and women who have served in the armed forces.  Our prompt word is valor, meaning "great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle," and on top of that our daily challenge is Picture My Hands.  

My dad was a career Naval Officer, serving his country for twenty-six years.  He did so with valor.  At his funeral, when the honor guard placed the folded flag that had draped his casket into my hands, I felt like I had never held anything that was filled with so much meaning.

What object holds deep meaning to you, perhaps even a sense of true valor.  Hold it in your hands.  Take a few moments to honor and remember all that it represents.  Then, take your photo.
