I'm not a big collector of things...except for Lego and books. And, I like my "collections" to be neat and organized so that I can see, find, and enjoy what I have. Living with two librarians, the books at our house are fairly well organized, though we don't yet have a card catalog. :-) But, I'm not opposed to that!
What do you collect? How do you display your collections? How do you use your collections in your everyday life?
Sometimes the technical aspect of a photo has to do with manipulating all of those buttons on your camera and sometimes it has to do with what goes on before you even pick up your camera. When it comes to photographing a collection, it is important to know your "why?" Why am I taking this photo? The above photo is not really about the individual books that make up the collection. Rather it is about the space created by the collection...how I feel when I'm in this space. As yoy photograph your collection today, know your why!
