Today you get to be creative. The image doesn't have to be of you, but find something you can use as a subject. Taking your photo through a glass of water can be effective and fun and you don't need fancy props. Just put water in a glass and place your subject behind it.  Try different positions and angles to get your shot. If that isn't appealing to you, try using a broken mirror, a body of water or puddle that has ripples, shoot out  of the window of a moving car or train or even try intentional camera movement.
