Backlane-igans!  What?  I made it up!  It's a word I use to describe back alley/back lane adventures.  Take yourself out to the back lanes and alleys near you and find something interesting to take a picture of.  I cruise up and down the alleys in older neighbourhoods as they have the absolute best stuff!  It is amazing what people put out there.  Big city's have great lanes too.  The criss-cross of telephone and electricity wires are excellent subject matter as are fire escapes and garage doors.  Back lanes are also great for graffiti shots.  If you are uncomfortable being a "backlane-igan", park lanes and bike lanes and country lanes are also beautiful to photograph.  Believe me, once you become a backlane-igan, it is hard to stop!
