Drip, drop. The quiet sound of raindrops on leaves is universally soothing. To create a sense of quiet in this photo, I filled the lower third with maple branches, the lone branch on the vertical third, and the cluster of leaves at the intersection of the top third. The shallow depth of field left lots of quiet space in between.

Find a place, thing, or activity that symbolizes quietness to you. If your camera has a grid overlay, put it to use. Or just imagine a tic-tac-toe board on your lens!  After you shoot, take a minute to enjoy the peacefulness.
