As we continue to explore the various ways to compose our images let's consider the horizon line and it's visual impact. The horizon line can be the literal horizon or it can be a line that intersects or divides your image. This "line" helps guide the viewers eye right where you want it; for example placing your horizon line on the upper third encourages your viewer to look ahead at what is beyond where they can see whereas placing an intersecting line on the lower third begs the eye to look a little closer at what the foreground has to offer.
