A whole week to practice composition is time well spent. Ansel Adams had an uncanny natural instinct for composition, even at a very young age. The rest of us need instruction!
One of the most effective techniques is to put your subject "on the thirds." This is where the lines would intersect in a tic-tac-toe game. Another is to incorporate leading lines to draw the eye to the subject. My wood cracks and chains accomplish that here. You can compose when you're taking your picture or when cropping later. Try several ways and watch how your photo changes! See how good composition unlocks the full potential of your images!
