The colour green always makes me think of the sun.  The sun makes everything turn green.

You can see by the bokeh in the background that it was a reasonably sunny day when I composed this shot.  I was  trying to get the unfurling of the fern, but I had to be careful not to overexpose the background where the sun was shining brightly.

 Even though it is macro day, don't forget to try to draw the eye by putting your subject on a third.
