I was fascinated by this ferris wheel as it started up. It lit up the night sky. My goal was to capture the movement of the lights as the ferris wheel spun around.
If you want to capture movement as it starts up today here's some tips. First, it's important to use a tripod or something to stabilize your camera or phone. Use a slow shutter speed. In this photo my shutter speed was set to 1 second. I upped my f stop to 22 so that I was able to minimize the light entering the camera. If you're shooting during the day you can use a ND filter to minimize the light allowing you to slow your shutter speed down. If you're using your phone, you'll likely have an option for long exposure.
If you have a fair near you today why not head out and see if you can grab a ferris wheel or other carnival ride as it starts.
