Day 128 -
Extra Challenge: Color Gray

Photographing a single object can be very satisfying.  There is something to be said about a minimalistic picture and the art of photographing just one subject.

When photographing a single object, remember to frame it to its best advantage.

If it is a nature shot, your primary goal is to minimize distractions and focus on the bird, insect, flower etc you are featuring.  It is a good idea to photograph your subject matter on the third and to show scale. If you are doing a macro nature shot, you might want to consider your depth of field and use a wider aperture in order to blur the background. (Try portrait mode on your iphone).

If you choose to photograph a single object in a still life situation, the same rules apply.  For a still life, you can use a neutral, nondistracting background and soft lighting.  Try using various angles or filling the frame to make that item pop!

Don't forget it is grey week!  Either shoot in black and white, photograph something grey, or change your photo to black and white in your processing stage.
