One of my favorite things to make is handknit stuffed animals.  Their only purpose is to bring a little comfort and put a smile on someone's face.  I used to think that the things I made had to be practical--sweaters, hats, socks, mittens, blankets--but over the years I've learned that smiles are just as important, if not moreso.
