Day 195 -
How do I do that?

How did I do that?

Today is all about minimalism in still life!  I am definitely not a minimalist when it comes to still life photography.  The way my mind works is that I must keep adding more and more stuff.  I should remember that 'less is more' and use the KISS principle to make my still life photographs pop!  So, today is a lesson for me as well.  Are you a natural minimalist, or do you over stuff your still life?

Let's try, together, to use one item.  Just one!  I chose an antique bandage roll container.  I knew I wanted to photograph it on the third and I also wanted it to be the main event.  I tried using dark cloth behind it, then I tried light cloth behind it and also took it outside and focussed on it in a garden setting.  In the end, I decided to put it in in a box and that pleased me.

Photograph just one item today and make it as minimal as possible.
