The colour silver and bokeh really work well together! The silver seems to bounce off the light making the bokeh even prettier.
In my sample photograph, I painted some walnuts silver and put them in a silver champagne glass. I used a wide aperture (f 2.8-f4) and created my shallow depth of field by placing my champagne glass and walnuts on a table about 3 feet from my lit Christmas tree. I got really close to my subject when I took my shot to ensure my background would blur.
Have fun with a silver subject matter and some Christmas lights!
