While “oasis” literally refers to a fertile desert area, it has come to represent a refuge from the strains of life, a place that can bring calm to our souls. This quiet garden was designed for George Wythe, a busy lawyer, judge, teacher, and signer of the Declaration. I’m sure he found respite from his many duties here.
