Story Hands
Day 218 -
Extra Challenge: Color Brown

Several years ago, I had a 92 year old woman as a music composition student.  She had little training as a musician, but she had a goal.  She wanted to write a march to submit to a competition sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution.  Each week, she would come to her lesson with a cassette tape that contained her singing the parts of her march.  I would take her tape and transcribe her song into notation.  Together, we worked toward her goal.  She submitted her March and won the competition that year.  She has since passed away, but her spirit lives on.  She taught me way more than I taught her.  I hope that at 92, I am still chasing dreams.

I used vintage sepia to process this photo to help add to the story.  Sometimes we can amplify the power of a photo in how we choose to process iit.

What do story hands hold for you?
