October is the best month to find fall leaves around here and some years are better than others. 

This is one of my favorite haunts-it is close to home, has a couple really nice hiking areas with tons of colorful trees and you can usually score some wildlife sightings as well.  There is also the chance that you can have fall color and new snow.

Quaking aspens have beautiful leaves that have a unique smell that says "It's Fall!"  Leaf peeping is on my Fall to-do list and that is exactly what I am doing here.
