HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING A 365 PROJECT?
I started my first 365 project in January of 2015 and I never stopped! I received my first DSLR in 2015 and I had no idea how to use it. I had been enjoying Amy Jordan’s photos and reached out to find out about it. She explained the 365 project to me and encouraged me to join. It was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I enjoy the daily photo challenges so much and I love the community.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PROMPTS AND NOT SO FAVOURITE?
I enjoy a variety of prompts…. I love macro photography, floral photography, still life, scenery. I enjoy the technical challenges because I learn something new each time. My least favorite prompts are street photography and scavenger hunt!

WHAT IS YOUR GO TO CAMERA GEAR?
I am a Canon girl and have been from the start. I have settled into a Canon 5D Mark IV and a few special lenses. I love the 100 mm macro, the 85 mm portrait and the 24-100 for everyday photography. I find myself using my iPhone 15 pro more now than in the past. This is especially true when I’m traveling. Phone cameras have come a long way but just can’t quite get the zoom that is sometimes needed. For this reason, I also travel with a Canon optical zoom camera in case I run across some wildlife.

WHAT DO YOU WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW ABOUT A 365 PROJECT?
A 365 project is so much more than photography. It creates a lifestyle of discipline and creativity. When nothing else is going right, taking a photograph and posting it gives a sense of accomplishment. Belonging to a group and being encouraged is such a great feeling. At the beginning, it’s easy to feel intimidated, but turning the mindset from intimidation to inspiration provides a different outlook. I enjoy photos from those more creative and talented than I am because it gives me something to strive for and motivates me to try new ideas.

WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO PHOTOGRAPH? AND DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE SUBJECT?
I love to photograph scenery and wildlife when traveling. But I find myself enjoying my own backyard for photography. I can photograph birds, insects and flowers. Since I live on the coast, I do enjoy capturing water birds and scenery as well. For a favorite subject I will have to go with flowers. I enjoy the details in each stage from blooming to wilting. I enjoy photographing people as well. I used to love to photograph my 9 grandkids but they are all growing up and not around as often. I have a photography business and I especially enjoy photographing high school seniors. They are easy to work with and normally willing to pose any wacky way I come up with.
